Welcome to the Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council world-wide-web home page. The Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council formed in 1988 is a nonprofit organization whose members are those individuals who have demonstrated exceptional professional accomplishments in the structural design of tall buildings. The Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council is a liaison organization to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, an international nonprofit organization of architects, engineers, planners, developers, and other professionals involved in the design, construction and operation of tall buildings.

2020 Los Angeles Tall Buildings Conference

The 2020 LATBSDC conference was held on October 9, 2020. The conference covered a variety of topics related to recent advances in structural design of tall and special buildings. Unique case studies of recent projects were presented, followed by unveiling of the new LATBSDC Guidelines for analysis and design of tall buildings, and sessions on experimental earthquake engineering, resilient design, and ground motion issues as they relate to structural design of tall buildings.
