Mr. Arlen Eskandari
Building Official, City of Beverly Hills
Mr. Arlen Eskandari serves as Assistant Director of the Community Development Department and Building Official for the City of Beverly Hills. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Structural-Earthquake Engineering and is a California-licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) and Professional Engineer (P.E.), as well as a Certified Building Official (CBO) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
With more than 25 years of experience spanning both the private consulting and public sectors, Mr. Eskandari brings extensive expertise in the analysis and design of high-rise buildings and a broad range of other structures. His private-sector career included structural design, seismic evaluation and retrofit, and engineering consulting. In the public sector, he has developed extensive expertise in building codes, plan review, permitting, inspections, and construction.
Drawing on this combination of technical expertise and regulatory experience, Mr. Eskandari contributes valuable perspective to the Los Angeles Tall Buildings Design Code Council, supporting the development and application of sound, practical approaches to the design and regulation of tall buildings.
